French green clay, abundant in minerals and trace minerals, is a unique healing clay. Because of its negative ionic charge, it attracts pollutants, toxins, and bacteria (all positively charged) trapping them so they call be pulled right out of the skin. It removes excess oils and deeply cleanses pores. It then deposits specific minerals where they are needed in the skin, which explains why it literally strengthens the skin’s various matrices. It is the most anti-bacterial and drying of the clays used for facials, so it is most often used for oily or acne-prone skin. It leaves the skin thoroughly clean, tighter, and brighter.
Extraction method: Harvested
Shelf life: Indefinite when stored properly
Storage: Keep sealed in a cool, dark place. Heat, oxygen, moisture, and light degrade the product.
May be used in soaps, cleansers, masks, and many other formulations. It may be useful as a thickener in some recipes, or as a mild abrasive. It is prone to clumping when mixed with liquid— for smoothest blending, whisk slowly into liquid rather than adding liquid to the clay. To avoid wasting product, start with small measurements and incrementally work your way up. Mix with water for a simple poultice. Not for internal use. Avoid inhalation.
